Jumeira Rotana Hotel. Abu Dhabi tour

Patiently await the Boeing 777/300 Emirates of 433, which takes off at 3:05 to Dubai (DBX). E 'una crossing 5850 km for a period of seven hours and a half, where we spend the majority of sleep. When we descend the plane we are faced with a building site: it is currently building the new terminal. Meanwhile we see the beautiful sunrise and the sunrise. Changing some money in local currency (Dirams) and at six and a half hours of the morning we are in the taxi. They expect a book from the Internet (such as extra service required to), but does not see. So we take one at random to achieve the Jumeira Rotana Hotel, located in Bur Dubai area, behind the famous beach where there are all the most famous hotel. Just to start some time we bottled in heavy traffic in front of an accident with a car literally hurled on a pole over the guard rail. We know that here there is a lot and driving is extremely reckless. The race is all over 50 dirams.
The Jumeira Rotana Hotel is located behind an alley parallel to the main road, where few cars pass, and then repaired and is also fairly quiet. Moving on foot is difficult to consider. The facade is elegant and shiny and the inner hall is a luxury. Despite the early morning hours, our room No. 225 on the 2nd floor is ready. And 'huge, with two double beds, a corner semi-furnished with kitchen (but there are no cooking) and a spacious bathroom has the size of an apartment!
Meet Felix, Erika's father who lives here now for many years. Leads us to take a trip to Dubai by car along Jumeira Beach. The city is a work in progress, from the skyscrapers under construction to the streets themselves. Reach the 'Italian Market', a mall-style nostrano with paintings and architecture that remind us of the beloved Venice. Here we consume a quick breakfast from Costa. We continue to the coast reaching the Burj Al Arab, the most famous hotels of Dubai today, considered the most luxurious in the world and the only one to be classified as a 7 stars! The look from the outside only a moment and leave the city to reach, after an hour's drive, Abu Dhabi.
And 'here who works and lives Felice. Twenty years ago this town was booming just a simple village of huts. Everything is born with the radical political changes and the new equilibrium in the Middle East, which have identified the UAE as a safe place of encounter between East and West. They arrived funds, capital to invest, and the economy (especially in construction) has grown exponentially resulting in an expansion without precedent. Today an apartment costs an eye of the head and yet still have all sold before they are built. Including those of extra luxury which will arise shortly in the "large palm" of the sea in Dubai.
Felice brings us to the beach where dell'Intercontinetal hotel, paying the entrance, we can make use of sunbeds and umbrellas. The beach is beautiful, collected in a small cove protected by a pier that spans almost creating a lagoon inside. The sun is very strong as we have not seen in two weeks in Malaysia ... yes now it's time to pull out the sunscreen! For lunch we are in the restaurant of the beach itself, a certain class and style. E 'circular in shape, with the dealer at the center where you can choose fresh fish (and how to cook), fruits, vegetables and so on. The tables are all around. We make our choice and resulting flakes with a lunch service and food are excellent! Spend the whole afternoon to relax at sea take our deserved tan, and 18.00 to go to Marina mall, another of the many huge shopping centers here that are very popular and famous. We visit various shops and pavilions, including one devoted entirely for decorative exterminated. Stop at a bar having a fruit juice and crepes with nutella, then let's take a look at the apartment of Felix. Finally we come back tired to 22.00 to the Jumeira Rotana Hotel in Dubai, after losing a po 'di tempo in vain to run between the countless diversions for road works.

Jumeira Beach Park.

Salgo at 8.30am to have breakfast with Ste top floor in the dining room of the Jumeira Rotana, while Erika comes out with his father to go to make a trip. For the first time during the trip we separated! The hall is very beautiful, refined, with a good view of the city, and the breakfast buffet is excellent and varied. On the same floor there is also an outdoor swimming pool, where we only look. E 'small and surrounded by cement: better go to the beach!
Descend upon receipt to request information and we are told that the hotel offers a free service to reach the public beach of Jumeira Beach Park. Has only two races per day and we are in perfect time to take first. In a quarter of an hour we left at the entrance to the park, which is accessed throughout the day with a paltry 5 dirams ticket. Cross the lawn green and spacious until you reach the beach of white sand, very organized touristically We are a local restaurant with outdoor tables, bathrooms, showers, the possibility to rent sun beds, umbrellas and a kiosk for book boat trips and parasailing do.
We rent two deckchairs 15 dirams one umbrella and a 5-dirams. There are many European tourists and some local, but the place is not crowded. The sea is beautiful, calm and clear conditions for deepening the perfect tan. Despite this, however, wanted a little sun and rest throughout the journey, after Malaysia now seems all too quiet and Jurgen Azam we had imposed tight rhythms much more!
Lunch with fish and chips and sandwiches followed by a tray of fruit, spending 50 dirams. Behind us system is a group of four boys of the place, that before you go away leaving a shameful amount of bottles and rubbish on the beach, with plenty of waste bins to ten meters away. It does so in these parts? Both the boy's passing of the beach to clean ... an attitude, apart from any culture and mentality, totally unacceptable! If everyone followed this line as reduce our natural beauty?
16.00 we take an ice cream and fruit juice in the tables at the entrance to the park, while waiting for the van for the return. Punctual to arrive at 16:30 and takes us back to Rotana in twenty minutes. Rest a while and at 19.30 we meet Erika and Happy at the German restaurant within the hotel, where dinner together. They propose an interesting trip in the car for tomorrow that we accept without batting an eyelid.
Then an hour to walk the main street that runs behind the hotel, discovering Dubai the traditional stalls and shops: completely different from the modern skyscrapers and luxury!

Desert tour. Hatta Village

9.00 Felice pass to take us to the hotel. Emerge from the chaotic traffic of the city heading towards the interior of the territory. The highway separates skyscrapers from the desert in a narcotic drug contrary: it seems a boundary line between civilization and nothing. Felice show seemed like the same place in a photo of ten years ago: unrecognizable!
We follow the road towards Hatta. The landscape becomes entirely desert, rocky first and then sand. Stop here in a book where organized walks dromedaries, 4x4 jeep tours to climb and jump between the dunes of the desert, daring run with quad and a healthy dose of adrenaline ensured. For now we content with a mini trip to ring in dromedary that Erika has never tried. Ste and I have already got to know these animals in the camel in the desert of Marsa Alam on the Red Sea.
Yet we continue by car to reach the Hatta Heritage Village, 60 km from Dubai around. E 'a historical reconstruction in the wilderness of a traditional village. The visit with calm, to savor the atmosphere and learn the local culture. And why does a tremendous hot! It 'very interesting and made with attention to detail: a real museum, except for the obvious fiction of' characters' which are replaced by statues speakers. A path leads high up into the tower, where you can admire the entire village and the beautiful rugged landscape, relieved by the small oasis of palm trees. At part of our plans a stop at the typical craft store, with excellent and unusual items of shopping to take home as souvenirs.
For lunch we're around at 13:00 and reach the Hatta Fort Hotel, a few kilometers further, a stunning place, a small desert oasis surrounded by a lush garden, a swimming pool and lots of golf! There must be a fabulous starry sky at night in these parts ... The restaurant offers a fine plate of tortellini and pasta with scampi for 223 dirams account in four.
The main road continues to Oman starting to climb the mountains and become tortuous. We choose to go back and try to stop in the morning to experience the thrill of Quad. Not having any experience, go up on the smaller dirams paying 130 an hour each. A succession of sand dunes of varying height mark the area where several other climb and quad all'impazzata run. The beginning is quite funny between insabbiature continuous fear of accappottamenti. Once you understand the main mechanisms, however, the fun is guaranteed! You run among the dunes in a mix of excitement and insanity, bypassing bumps and 'flying' between the ridges: mitico! It 'a perfect way to forget the start tomorrow and finish worthy of this fantastic journey three weeks ...
It only remains to return to Dubai, where by 18:00 we enjoy a spectacular sunset at the Burj Al Arab hotel, the beautiful beach of fine white sand of Jumeira.
Once the Rotana hotel, up the suitcases and Erika leaves us to follow his father in Abu Dhabi. You will still ten blessed days! Ste and I stand alone in our sadness and we walk in the surroundings, having dinner at a Burger King and spending just 28 dirams.

Coming back home

5:30 am to finish the check-out upon receipt of Rotana and take a taxi to the airport at 40 dirams. At 7:50, the Emirates flight 97 on a Boeing 777/300 puntuale takes off from Dubai to Rome ... 4328 kilometers and 6h 20m separate us from Italy, where landed at 11.30. Usually tram tram and lunch from 'Sea Terrace' at the airport of Fiumicino. We buy back a version of Lump umpair small gift to Erika as a surprise on his return. Patiently await the 16:20 when our flight Meridiana will lead us finally to Cagliari.
That concludes another fantastic and unforgettable experience among the wonders of the Far East, documented by more than 2,000 photos and 11 hours of film. Most indelible memories in our hearts. Although after several weeks passed away from home we happened to fall quite willingly, knowing to leave behind beautiful places, from this holiday, which is also our longest in total to date, we do not hear anything for this need. We would still remain around the adventure! But this time the adventure is over, and really, how would our mythical Jurgen known in Malaysia: "THE TOUR IS OVER ...." ... ... At least for now ... ..
